Who is rock n' rosh?Roshini a.k.a. Rosh, has been in the design industry for over a decade. Her humble beginning saw her work as an intern in the automotive industry in Malaysia. From here, she moved to the UK to complete her degree in Industrial Design and found herself working as a pattern maker in the UK, within the ceramic industry there.
5-years in the UK and between her degree and master’s in Arts, Rosh worked as a freelance designer within the ceramics, furniture and graphic industry. Upon obtaining her MA, specialising in packaging and manufacturing, she returned home to Malaysia and worked in various industries ranging from advertising, branding to packaging and eCommerce. While working in advertising and branding she decided to take a bold step in her career and a leap of faith; she took a year out to travel and try her hand at travel writing. Something that she always wanted to do but wasn't courageous enough until then. Naturally she started her own blog where she wrote about her journey and her experience as a solo traveler, but she also wrote for online travel site such as ExpatGo and The Travel Manuel. Back from the ‘gap year’ she was between a rock and a hard place. While on her gap year, she took some time to think about what she wanted to do in design as she has a vast background and interest in more than one field. Hence she set up rock n’ rosh – a design consultancy that does graphic, branding and social media. In the mids of setting up, Rosh was offered a position in a multinational company that specialized in artwork prep for print and CGIs (computer-generated imagery) for eCommerce, based in Penang. Always up for a challenge, she took on the role of creative lead and later account manager and thrived in it for almost 4 years. She has since moved back to the capitol (Kuala Lumpur) and is still working with SGK as a Creative Manager, managing a team of designers and being involved with design work. Rosh is always on the look out for a fresh challenge. |
